Artefacts on tour

This time next week I will be unpacking my stuff in my penthouse apartment in Chelsea, NYC... As a taster, here is what I think will be my desk, onto my balcony with New York skyline (YEAH!)...

Ok, this is what I am unpacking from my carry on size Crumpler... these will be the base for my travels:

Black work trousers (dispensible)
Ponte jacket for work and play - acquisition from last NY trip
Sacha Drake 70s-esque pants suit
Coles skirt (potentially dispensible)

Trenery cardigan
Jeans (heaviest item but not sure I can wear black the WHOLE time)
Some long sleeve tshirts
Mela Purdie light weight water resistant coat that can go from trekking to theatre. Have some silk thermals to deal with the 0-15 temps...
Ankle boots
Ballet flats
One scarf (black) to keep warm... how many NY hours until I will have the choice of a squillion scarves on the street corner...
I will buy toiletries there, but I have relented and taking some Simplicite face cream...

OK.. so now I can play out the excitement of a multitude of cities against this minimalist backdrop... who knows what adventures are yet to be had!

Its way hard to blog

Eek... insight number one.... have been writing lengthy academic pieces for too long... please bear with me as I get a pithy blog writing style going here... (ok add in working out more shortcomings of my tablet for blogging...)

Testing times

trying to add photos! this is a test using a summer outfit... given that there is a wild SNOW warning for New York city today, I am not planning on packing a linen jacket :-) Artefacts constrained by weather it seems...

I am officially at the 2-weeks-before-I-leave point and I am getting reaaallly excited. The months of plotting and planning  are starting to fall into place and the real decisions about artefacts to accompany me on my journey. During the trip I will reflect on interpreting the people and places I encounter and the artefacts to do that...
